Garlic is one of the most popular vegetables in Ukraine. Thanks to its flavor and even medicinal qualities, it is used for preparing a variety of dishes.     There are two types of garlic harvesters:<\/h3>\n

    1. Top-cutting. This garlic harvester with three-point hitch attaches to a 110 hp tractor. It can be 1-4 rows wide. Powered by the PTO shaft, the machine pulls the garlic out of the soil with its stalk, trims the stalk to 10\u201315 cm, cleans the bulbs from soil, and loads them into a special box up to 500 kg, which is then delivered straight from the field to the drying facility. Only one tractor driver and one operator are needed.<\/li>\n
    2. Top-tying. This garlic harvester works similarly but does not cut the tops. Instead, it ties them into bundles and unloads them in a bag. It requires a 60 hp tractor to pull the harvester across the field and one operator.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Both technologies have advantages and disadvantages. The first type is faster: cleaned bulbs go immediately to drying, processing, sale, or storage. The second method ensures the bulbs remain undamaged, store longer, and preserve nutrients, but requires pre-drying facilities and more manual labor.<\/p>\n

      Usually, garlic is loaded directly into containers from the harvester, but there are also side-loading machines. This method may damage some bulbs, so such garlic is used for sauces or granulated products for long-term storage.<\/p>\n
