Garlic growing and harvesting processes by UDAZ

Here we show photos and videos of garlic growing, care, and harvesting processes by UDAZ. You can see the stages of soil preparation, planting, plant care, and harvesting.

Garlic growing processes

Photos from our fields showing all stages of garlic cultivation — from the first sprouts to the formation of strong and healthy plants.

Field preparation. Organic foundation of UDAZ technology

The quality of commercial garlic begins with the soil. UDAZ uses organic fertilizers without chemical or mineral overload, creating a stable environment for plant development from day one.

This approach reduces risks, improves uniform emergence, and lays the foundation for predictable yields. Field preparation is not a separate stage but part of a fully managed garlic cultivation technology.

Mechanized harvesting of “aerial” garlic seedlings

We demonstrate how mechanized harvesting of “aerial” garlic seedlings is carried out at the UDAZ farm using specialized equipment. This industrial approach reduces the cost of planting material, enables fast and efficient harvesting of large volumes, and helps prepare for the next season.

Aerial bulbils. Variety rejuvenation and stability

To preserve garlic genetics and vigor, UDAZ applies aerial bulbil technology. This approach allows the variety to be rejuvenated, ensures clean planting material, and provides stable results in industrial production.

The technology is implemented at scale and is part of the full UDAZ production cycle.
The “Titan” variety is certified and officially registered, ensuring quality control and predictable yields.

Aerial bulbil calibration. Uniform emergence control

Before planting, aerial bulbils are calibrated and divided into fractions. This approach allows the planting material to be adapted to different growing conditions and ensures uniform emergence across the entire field.

Calibration is part of UDAZ’s managed technology and directly affects plant development stability and final commercial results.

Thermal treatment. Planting material health control

Before planting, garlic undergoes thermal treatment that reduces disease risks and stabilizes planting material quality. This stage helps minimize early-season problems and ensures uniform plant development.

Thermal treatment is part of UDAZ’s managed technology and directly affects the predictability of future yields.

Complete clove separation cycle. Precise planting material selection

UDAZ applies a complete clove separation cycle that includes manual inspection and automatic calibration of planting material. Damaged and non-standard cloves are removed before planting, reducing risks and ensuring a stable field start.

Different fractions are planted on separate plots, which is part of the managed technology and directly affects uniform emergence and predictable commercial results.

Precision mechanized planting. Uniformity from day one

UDAZ uses specialized Zocapi machinery for precise mechanized garlic planting. Depth and spacing are maintained with high accuracy, and each fraction is planted using individual settings.

This approach ensures uniform emergence, proper plant development, and a stable field structure. Mechanized planting is a key element of the managed technology and the foundation of predictable commercial results.

Inter-row garlic herbicide treatment

We demonstrate the inter-row garlic treatment process using Zocapi equipment. Precise and efficient work: clean rows, eliminated weeds, and maximum plant protection.

Garlic fertilization using the CULTAN method

We demonstrate the fertilization process for garlic crops at the UDAZ farm using CULTAN technology. Nitrogen is applied precisely to the root zone, reducing nutrient losses, stimulating root growth, increasing yields, and ensuring efficient garlic development.

Garlic harvesting with a combine harvester. Minimal yield losses

UDAZ uses a specialized Zocapi combine harvester to harvest garlic with minimal mechanical damage. Process control preserves product quality and reduces yield losses at the final stage of the season.

After harvesting, garlic is immediately ready for further processing, sorting, and sale. Mechanized harvesting is a key element of UDAZ technology and directly affects the final commercial result.

Post-harvest garlic processing on the Zocapi line

See how post-harvest garlic processing takes place on the modern Zocapi production line: unloading from crates, cleaning, sorting, and packaging. This is the final stage of preparing high-quality Ukrainian planting material from UDAZ.

We also offer a commercial proposal for farmers:

  • Certified planting material of the highest quality;
  • Prices: from €3.5 to €6/kg (bulb, clove, single clove);
  • Minimum order volumes — from 5 ha;
  • Services: planting, harvesting, agronomic support, and assistance with crop sales.

Available forms:

  • Bulb€3.5/kg
  • Clove€4.3/kg
  • Single clove 15–20 mm€6/kg
  • Single clove 20–25 mm€7.5/kg
  • Garlic bulbils 4–5 mm€10/kg
  • Garlic bulbils 5–6 mm€14/kg

Processing, sorting, and packaging. Ready for sale

UDAZ performs processing, sorting, and packaging of garlic according to market requirements and client needs. Products are cleaned, manually refined, and prepared for sale without additional operations.

Finished garlic is supplied in crates or mesh bags, allowing immediate market entry. This stage completes the managed production cycle and secures the commercial result.

Warehouses and planting garlic stock

At our enterprise, UDAZ stores over 180 tons of high-quality planting garlic of the Lyubasha and Iren varieties.

  • Available — 100 tons of seedlings and first-reproduction bulbs;
  • Average bulb size — 45 mm;
  • Modern storage facilities with ventilation systems ensure ideal storage conditions.
